Introduction

This 30-hour training program equips participants with practical skills to use ArcGIS for spatial data analysis, mapping, and decision-making in water resource management. The course covers spatial data basics, map creation, data formats, digitization, geoprocessing, and advanced analyses including raster, 3D, and hydrological tools.

Through hands-on exercises, learners will generate watershed boundaries, streamflow networks, land cover maps, and integrate climate datasets for environmental and engineering projects. By the end of the course, participants will be able to create professional maps, perform spatial and hydrological analyses, and apply ArcGIS effectively in real-world water resource applications.

    • Understand the spatial data basics, and generation of maps.
    • Understand the different data formats, digitization and geoprocessing.
    • Understand the spatial analysis, 3D data analysis and raster data processing.
    • Understand the hydrological analysis in ArcGIS.

Course overview

ArcGIS is one of the world’s most powerful GIS tools, widely used for spatial data analysis, mapping, and decision-making. This 30-hour training program introduces participants to the core principles of ArcGIS, with a special focus on water resource applications such as watershed delineation, hydrological modeling, flood risk mapping, and climate data visualization. Through hands-on exercises, participants will gain the skills to manage spatial data, perform advanced analyses, and generate professional maps that support real-world environmental and engineering projects.
